Meet our new Sales Engineer, Kirk Oden

COMMERCE, Ga.- The SPG family is happy to announce, and welcome, Kirk Oden to the team! Residing in North Carolina, Kirk joins us as a Sales Engineer, bringing with him a wealth of knowledge and experience from multiple sectors.

Kirk grew up operating heavy equipment during the summers of his high school and college years. After college, Kirk worked for a defense contractor, BAE Systems, but soon itched to get back out in the field. He then applied for, and was selected, to be a manufacturing & project engineer for a privately held sawmill group in Northern California. After spending 4.5 years with Mendocino Forest Products and Humboldt Redwood, Kirk left to work with the family business. After working for a few years, Kirk and his wife decided that they were ready to leave California and was then hired by Louisiana Pacific OSB in Roxboro, NC as a Plant Engineer. After spending some time there, he was hired by Crow Engineering as their first East Coast Project Engineer. After a year and a half with Crow, Kirk decided to make a career change and get into sales. He was then hired by Biomass Engineering and Equipment where he worked designing and selling material handling systems to sawmills, pellet mills, and biochar plants. After over five years with BE&E, Kirk joined the SPG team to provide clients with turnkey plant design by utilizing the relationships he has nurtured in the industry over the years. 

Kirk holds a Degree in Manufacturing Engineering from California State Polytechnic University in Pomona.
