Industrial Electrical General Foreman
We are seeking an experienced Industrial/Commercial Electrical General Foreman to oversee field operations on industrial and commercial electrical projects. This position will be responsible for coordinating foremen and electrical crews, manpower, and daily work, monitoring productivity, and ensuring work is completed safely and according to project drawings, specifications, schedules, and applicable codes.
Job Duties
• Supervise and coordinate electrical foremen, electricians, apprentices, and field crews.• Plan daily and weekly work activities, crew assignments, manpower, materials, tools, and equipment.
• Review drawings, specifications, one-lines, schematics, schedules, and other project documents.
• Oversee installation of conduit, cable tray, wire and cable, switchgear, MCCs, transformers, panels, motors, grounding, lighting, heat trace, and related systems.
• Coordinate electrical work with project management, customers, other trades, and site personnel.
• Track and report job progress, installed quantities, labor hours, productivity, and material needs to the project superintendent.
• Assist in identifying field changes, additional scope, drawing conflicts, and potential schedule impacts and report them to the project management team.
• Ensure work meets NEC requirements, project specifications, and company quality standards.
• Enforce company and site safety requirements and conduct toolbox meetings as required.
• Assist with testing, commissioning, punch-list work, turnover, and project closeout.
• Maintain clear communication with project management, foremen, and field personnel.
Qualifications
• Minimum 5 years of industrial or commercial electrical construction experience.
• Previous experience as a General Foreman, Foreman, or similar electrical field leadership position.
• Strong knowledge of electrical construction methods, materials, and the NEC.
• Ability to read and understand electrical drawings, one-lines, schematics, and project specifications.
• Experience supervising multiple crews, coordinating foremen, and managing manpower.
• Strong leadership, planning, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Journeyman Electrician license and OSHA 30 certification are preferred.
• Ability to travel and work extended hours, weekends, shutdowns, or turnarounds when required.
